Math 376L: Math Lab for Prealgebra
At College of the Redwoods, Math 376L is the Math Lab course for students who are also enrolled in Math 376 (Prealgebra). The information on this page is designed for use by a number of constituencies:
- instructors of the Math Lab,
- students enrolled in Math 376 and Math 376L, and
- all others interested in gathering information about the Math Lab.

Student Information and Help Resources
What is the Math Lab course?
The Math Lab course is a variable-unit, repeatable (up to four times), credit/no credit course that allows students access to various help resources. These resources include:
- one-to-one help from peer tutors
- additional tutorial assistance from CR math instructors
- computers (with internet access) and printers
- textbooks, solution manuals, videos, and other reference materials
What are the minimum requirements to receive credit for the Math Lab?
- You must attend a minimum of 22.5 hours in the Math Lab for each 1/2 unit of credit you are enrolled in:
- 1/2 credit = 22.5 hours (average 1.5 hours per week)
- 1 credit = 45 hours (average 3 hours per week)
- You must complete a moderate set of online assignments with an average of at least 70%.
Where is the Math Lab, and when is it open?
- Eureka campus: The Math Lab is located in the Academic Support Center, at the west end of the library. It is open 9am-5pm on Monday-Thursday and 9am-3pm on Friday.
- Del Norte campus: The Math Lab is located in the Academic Support Center. Contact Mike Haley for the current lab hours.
How do I enroll in Math 376L?
- First register for the course via WebAdvisor or by visiting the Admissions and Records Office.
- Then go to the Math Lab and meet with the lab coordinator or the mathematics instructor who is working there. You will need to fill out a Math Lab contract so that your information can be entered into the computer time-tracking system. Also, you must read the Math Lab rules and policies.
- On every subsequent visit to the lab, remember to log in on the Math Lab computer, and log out when you leave.
