The Latest News
Last update: Sunday November 8
Recent Announcements:
(dated in reverse order within each topic)
- General
- (Nov. 8) Current
Course Grades have been updated through the Trigonometry Final Exam.
- (Nov. 1) I have enabled the formula
previewer feature in Optimath. When you begin your exam or
pretest, you will now be presented with an option to open up a separate
previewer window which allows you to see how complicated inline
formulas are actually typeset (this can help you put parentheses in the
right place).
I will demonstrate the previewer in class on
Tuesday. If you use Firefox 3 on a Windows computer from the beginning,
the process for opening the previewer is very easy. If you use Internet
Explorer on Windows, or Safari on a Macintosh, then it's a bit more
complicated. Follow the on-screen instructions
carefully, and practice with it first (using one of the Unit Practice
exams) before you take the Trigonometry Final Exam.
- (Oct. 7) Proctored testing is now available at the Arcata
Instructional Site. See the Instructions
for
Proctored Exams for details.
- I receive many email spam messages each day, and it's always
possible that your important email will get mixed up with the junk. I
certainly don't want to miss your email, so to minimize that
possibility please include "Math 25" in the subject line. In addition,
be sure to include your name somewhere in the body of the email. If you
have a question about an exam or pretest, tell me which exam and which
question number(s) you are referring to. Thanks!
- Reminders
- Unit 7
The target date for Unit
7
is Thursday November
12.
The unit must be completed by Wednesday
November 18.
- Remember that you can take as many pretests as you want to
prepare for the proctored unit exams. In addition, you may repeat a
proctored unit exam up until the deadline date (but you can only take
it one time each day).
- The written assignment is due by Thursday November 12.
- Help Resources
- See the Help page for a complete
list of help resources.
